Mooove

As mentioned before, I’ve started running in an effort to add some intentional movement into my life. When I started doing this I looked for a way to track my progress and help keep me motivated toward my goal of running a 5k. Not being satisfied with what I found, I decided to create my own application for this. Right now it’s sort of a combination of a progress chart and a microblog. I’m also tracking my shoe miles so I’ll know when I need to buy some new “kicks”. I have quite a few other features I want to add so who knows how this will evolve.

So without further ado, I give you Mooove: move.geoffalday.com

Homeless Apple

Every morning when I get off of the interstate there is usually a homeless person at the end of the off ramp. I sometimes see people give him food or money while waiting for the light to turn green. Today he wasn’t there but I did notice a bright, shiny, and very clean apple sitting near where he usually stands. I immediately thought it was left because he didn’t really want the apple. But maybe he just forgot it.

Exercise Balls

Have a great weekend. Go out and do something fun like this (via Blankenship).

Weekly Roundup

Umbrella Today? - I really like applications like this that do one thing very well. Enter you location and they tell you if you need an umbrella.

Unnecessary Knowledge - I think most of us tend to carry around various tidbits of knowledge in our head.  Now there is a site for all of that stuff.

Anti-theft Lunch Bag - Design solves an office space problem.

Fancy Form Design - Excellent sitepoint article re: creating form layouts with CSS.

Springloops - Online source code collaboration. I’m using their free plan for the application I’m developing.
